It started at a car show
Paper ballots in a coffee can, a folding table for registration, and winners announced an hour late. Everyone there deserved better, so we built it.
What we’re building
Placrd runs the whole event: registration, entry fees, QR ballots, live results, and printed placards, all from one page. Voters scan a placard and vote from their own phone.
It works for more than cars. Art walks, dog shows, cook-offs, sneaker meets: if people bring something they’re proud of and a crowd picks a winner, it fits.
And it’s built to be more than a ballot box. Every participant gets a profile, a collection, and a record of wins that follows them from event to event.
How we build it
- Organizers first
- The person running the event is our customer. Setup, event day, and payouts are designed around their reality: a parking lot, a phone, and no spare time.
- Privacy by default
- Voting is anonymous and we collect only what the event needs. Nothing gets sold, ever.
- Built for bad wifi
- Venue signal dies. Voting keeps working offline and syncs the moment it comes back.
- Pricing you can read
- A percentage on paid registrations, credits for free events. The whole pricing page fits on one screen.
